Dragons Roast Cougars in Rematch

It was a beautiful day for football today in Westport, but unfortunately, it wasn’t our game to be won. GFA played a complete game on offense and defense, soundly defeating the NCCS Cougars 42-20.

On offense, GFA attacked the Cougar zone relentlessly with a downfield passing attack, earning touchdowns on all but one of their drives. On the Cougars’ side of the ball, there was no downfield passing to be had, as the GFA defensive backs were all over the field. On the day, they rallied three total interceptions, forcing the Cougars to move through the ground game and short passing. RB Archer MacClear did his part, earning both a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. In addition, WR Parker Griggs also tried his hand at running back, and he showed speed, vision, and razzle dazzle, taking his one carry to the house on the first play of the drive.

It wasn’t our day, but we will be back in the saddle again later this week - we've got Hamden Hall coming to town on Thursday at 3:45. See you then!
