Cougars Roll Rip, End Season with Win

Well, that's all, folks! To cap off the year, the Cougars defeated Rippowam-Cisqua 35-6. The Cougars got started quickly and never took their foot off the gas. On fourth down of the first drive, QB Griff Stallmeyer found WR Topher Kern on a beautiful corner route, but Topher wasn't satisfied with the first, so he took it all the way to the house. On our second possession, Topher ripped a post to WR Parker Griggs, bringing the score up to 14-0 after a successful conversion.

Following a Rip touchdown to bring the score to 14-6, the Cougs got the ball one more time before half. Milking every last second of the clock, QB Griff Stallmeyer led an eight-play drive that culminated with a touchdown pass to WR Harry Griggs, bringing the score to 22-6 at half.

After half, the Cougs added a couple more insurance scores, the first being the most blatant, uncalled flag guarding of all time by WR Finn Dickinson, who utilized multiple stiff arms and several celebrations on his way to the endzone. To finish off the scoring, QB Justin Stannard found WR Topher Kern on a go ball for his final touchdown as an NCCS Cougar before slinging an out-route to C/WR Beckett Villari for the extra point. 35-6 final.

Everybody was a contributor today! WR/C Chance Crandall stepped up with a couple key receptions and flag pulls as did WR/CBs Jack Reilly and Crey Savage. These short yardage plays on both sides of the ball helped keep the Cougars on the right side of the sticks from the get-go. In addition, RB Archer MacLear taught us all a valuable lesson today - make sure you have all of your flags on when you take a hand off! It might come back to bite you!

Thanks for a great season everybody - see you out there next year!
